From May through August for the past two years, I have worked in IBM's Software Group on WebSphere eXtreme Scale. The work I accomplished in my first stint involved XML parsing, validation, and marshaling/unmarshaling along with general software design and implementation in a Java environment. During my time at IBM in 2013, I have taken on bugs that come in from various clients and have learned to more readily handle the large workload of a developer. In addition, I implemented other features to be added to the product. IBM has been a great experience in learning what the day-to-day of a professional software developer will be. This includes working in an Agile development environment, learning much more about version control and software regression, and how to handle clients and their needs.
