"Work smarter, not harder." -GrandpaThis quote is at the top of my profile because of how important it is to me. My grandfather was previously an English professor for decades and one thing he always told me was to work smarter not harder. I took this saying with me through life as it pushed me to think differently and implement quicker ways of doing things, not just with actual activities but even with school work. My grandfather is an inspiration to me everyday and constantly pushes me to be the best version of myself I can be, whether that is academically or in my best self-interest.My name is Helena Norris (pronounced huh-lay-nuh) and I am a senior at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I currently am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and my aim is to graduate in May of 2025. Marketing has interested me for a long time and I am learn more about the field everyday! I began my first semester at UNLV during the peak of COVID-19 during 2020 and, despite the struggle with online classes and selecting a major, I was able to slowly integrate more in-person classes and gain new friends who have the same ideas and goals as I do.My job goal is to join a marketing team and find work with market research. Currently, I am apart of a Growth Marketing Intern team that teaches me about promotion techniques and gives me real world experience in advertising as well as teaches me team building techniques. This is such an interesting field that constantly inspires and teaches me skills. I look forward to connecting with opportunities and seeing other profiles that are just like mine!
