Development of implementation plan and cost estimate for launching a implementation in a new market (Brazil).

As employee of AXA Portugal, being Service Delivery Manager for AXATech: an entity of AXA Group which delivers technological services (data centers, infrastructures, helpdesk, and related services). All the relation with this provider is under my responsibility, since the demands definition, approval and follow up, the general service level follow up, and the definition of some initiatives like cost reduction.

Integrated in the Architecture & Methodologies team, first, and later in the regional (Mediterranean) Architecture team, but always having projects to manage or at least to have some responsibility. Main work done as IT Architect: Declination to AXA Portugal of AXA Group rules and standards. Selection of some new solutions, like Outputs generation (CSF DESIGNER), Integration (BIZTALK and ICM), and EDM/BPM (FILENET P8), including the requirements identification, the solution design, the RFP definition, the selection of products and potential partners to participate in proofs of concept, and managing the final selection. Participation on some running international or regional (Mediterranean) projects like: Flyer GAO, Product Configurator, Paperless. Elaborate all the Portuguese part of the regional documents created by the Architecture Competence Center, as well Portuguese answers to AXA Group related to IT Architecture, when needed, like: Application Portfolio Management, Roadmap, and Target Architecture. Be part of solution design processes in some projects, mainly those which have some impact on the infra-structure, on the relation between applications, or on the usual scope of one application. Be involved on the Strategic Plan elaboration.Management of transversal projects related to the applications internationalization or to needed technical evolutions (like: Evolution to Oracle 10g to support non-Latin characters, Workshops with the development team about SOA approach, Creation of in fact shared resources, developing and deploying shared assets, Thinking about Tecnisys evolution from Oracle Forms to .Net.).

Project Management of the implementation of some solutions referred above while Architect. It was the case of EDM/BPM, implemented initially in the auto claims department, project managed by me between October 2005 and March 2007. Project Management of “Seguro Directo” integration and migration, when AXA acquires it, between November 2005 and June 2006, which includes the development of dedicated solutions to the direct business, implementation and customization of regional assets, and the data migration itself.

Responsability by the systems administration and support area, for 6 months. Participation in several datacenter changes like replace SUN Solaris by IBM AIX servers, replace SAN HITACHI by SAN IBM FASTT, replace several Windows/Intel servers by new IBM equipment, implement 1GB network inside the datacenter.

Creating an internal development team, with more or less 70 elements, splitted in between 10 and 12 simultaneous and related projects; Defining and managing an knowledge transmission plan from the supplier to the internal team;Defining and managing an plan of exclusion of the supplier services that integrated and led the project team until then; Management of an technical support team dedicated to this program;Being a Technical Coordinator, defining methodologies, standards and rules, managing the development of the several teams, managing conflicts, synergies and common solutions between them, and managing relations with others projects in the company (SAP is an example, in implementation at the same time).

Customization and implementation in AXA the insurance management information system developed in Royal Exchange.

Responsible by the development, leading a team of 24 resources, including analysts and programmers. The project lasted 12 months, with the objective to develop the 1st phase of the new Insurance business management system.

Functional and exclusively responding to the external partner which was in charge of the development of a new Insurance business management Information System.Practice of:Analysis, using the “information engineering” methodology and associated technologies of Data and Process Modeling; Use of the Case tool ADW;Definition of non-standard functions specifications;Administration of the data model;Design team coordination.
