I'm an independent writer & software architect with skills in data visualisation, computer networks, Java & Web programming and software processes. I own a small firm focused on offering services (training, mentoring, consulting, and software development) in those fields, in English and in Brazilian Portuguese. I have written course material about Java, JavaScript, Web Technologies, software design, many of these as a ghostwriter for training companies, but several for my own training services which I make available online (in Portuguese). I have also published books on HTML, CSS and JavaScript (1996-1999, in Portuguese) and recently published two books in English "Learn Chart.js" and "Learn D3.js", in 2019 by Packt. The book on D3 will have a second edition expected for Q1/2025. I currently offer data visualization services and mentoring as an independent consultant, mostly for projects based on D3.js.I also enjoy dedicating part of my time in other fields, especially translation and localization (I regularly translate software documentation, games, applications, and occasionally translate news, articles, literature and theater, in English/Russian to Brazilian Portuguese, and sometimes from Portuguese/Russian to English. I design papercraft toys, board games and wooden puzzles for CNC cutters, and sometimes teach art workshops.I like creating, researching, working on innovative projects (even risky ones), that's why I prefer not to work full-time anywhere.
