Since joining 'SMITHS' of Smithfield I have worked as a standalone HR Manager, advising on all people related issues for over 150 employees aswell as designing and implementing a successful HR strategy for the business. I have successfully led on a number of projects including: • Identifying and developing team culture and values.• Creation and implementation of a ‘competency framework’ that is now fully integrated into all areas of the business and is the foundation for job descriptions, recruitment, personal development and succession planning.• Leading and completing a collaborative project with a design and marketing team to create an on-boarding ‘welcome’ pack for employees starting with ‘SMITHS’. • Creation and implementation of an immersive and interactive induction day for new starters based around the culture and values.• Leading the successful recruitment and training of 50 new employees for a new opening.• Leading and advising on the group redundancy consultation process for 50 employees during a site closure.• Introduction of a Chef apprenticeship programme in with 3 chefs having successfully completed the programme and now working full time within the company.• Full review and update of all policies and procedures within the Employee Handbook, transferring content to a more accessible and user friendly online format. Training line managers in managing within the law and day to day HR procedures.• Full review and update of employment contracts for all employees – followed by consultation and re-issuing of written terms and condition.

Mitie won the contract for catering, domestics and porters in 2014 and I remained in position as HR Officer managing both the TUPE out process as well as the people side of the mobilisation process for Mitie for over 200 employees. During this time I worked closely with the Senior Management team from both ARAMARK and Mitie to manage complex ER issues and implement new people systems.

Aramark Ltd provided retail, vending and patient food services across both Epsom and St Helier hospitals employing 200 staff within the contract. The HR Officer role reported directly to the Director of Operations and was part of the on-site management team. During this time I successfully achieved the following:• Supporting operations with a case load of employee relations matters: AWOL and gross misconduct dismissals, long term sickness, capability, grievance and redundancy procedures and training.• Assisting the Director of Operations with implementation of Aramark company wide HR initiatives eg: engagement surveys, employee appreciation days, labour productivity measures and staff benefits.• Contact point for trade union representatives.• Assisting the senior HR manager with project work outside the contract.• Collating TUPE bid data.• Contact point for employment tribunal claims including liaising with the advocate representing the Company• Supporting operations with recruitment solutions, recruitment events and managing relationships with partners such as JobcentrePlus• Tracking vacancies and ensuring new starter processes are completed in a timely manner.• Recording and an analysing HR data eg. turnover, absence, employment relations in order to produce management reports and present at client meetings line with contractual KPI’s.• Immigration and Visa tracking ensuring that all mandatory paperwork is maintained• Personnel File Maintenance• Absence tracking - running sickness reports and tracking process against the company policy• Ensuring all new staff have gone through DBS and Occupational Health checks
