In Mortgages: I led the intermediaries understand phase research for human centred design. The insights uncovered were the most in-depth contextual research the bank has ever done across the intermediaries’ journey and have reshaped the future lab strategy. As a champion of customer empathy throughout the business, I led a team of insight partners with responsibility for all strategic insight for the marketing teams and the Board. My key responsibility was to deliver insight to senior stakeholders across Asda in engaging and relevant ways; using my deep understanding of the business and the retail environment to collaborate effectively with leaders to identify issues and anticipate emerging needs. A key skill in this role was being adept at synthesizing research findings into clear, impactful and actionable outputs. My role was both to deliver this and coach my team to do the same.Additionally at Asda I was a mentor, a culture catalyst and sat on the flexible working steering group.

Heading up the research and unstructured data function, my team commissioned strategic ad-hoc research, led on customer closeness and kept the business focussed with real time social and contact centre listening. My major focus here was on development of customer instinct. As the voice of the customer, it's all about enabling the business to understand and empathise with our customers in order to make the right decisions on their behalf. In this role, and all of my Asda roles, I also facilitated qualitative work myself - groups, accompanied shops, in store intercepts and customer closeness workshops.
