My past experience of the conference was that a lot of the presentations gave real food for thought and often provided different ways of looking at the issues that we HR professionals are frequently tackling. The structure of the presentations, from a delegate's perspective, is really good as they are limited to less than 10 minutes, which means that you do not get a presentation that spends half the time on a 'corporate promo', before the real topic is addressed. As a Speaker, I found this time constraint to be one of the most challenging tasks, as it really forced me to distil the presentation to the real essence of the points I wanted to get across. At the same time, this challenge definitely helped me develop and I am certain will be transferred across to other presentations I make in the future. The good news is that Helen and her team have so much experience with these events that the support she can provide can help resolve any issues that arise. The event is extremely professional, with all the technology working like clockwork, so as a speaker you can focus on your session - and on networking with other HR professionals attending the conference.
