I taught all areas of the UK Science National Curriculum to a diverse range of pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4, covering disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, including How Science Works. I was responsible for teaching Edexcel GCE Biology to KS5 pupils, and prepared teaching materials and lesson plans in accordance with the National Curriculum to facilitate the educational and learning needs of students, including those with learning or emotional difficulties. I wrote and reviewed schemes of work for pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4. I also utilised a range of tools to assess progress of pupils including SIMs and FFT data. In addition, I assessed pupil work through formative and summative assessments and provided feedback. I provided mentoring, support and encouragement to pupils in respect of academic and personal issues. I also enforced classroom and behavioural management techniques and policies in the learning environment. Throughout the course of my career at Rutlish School for Boys, I fulfilled additional roles as Deputy Head of Year. Show less
