Brook is the UK’s leading provider of sexual health and wellbeing support for under 25s, working with hundreds of thousands of young people each year through a unique blend of clinical services, training for professionals, education services and advocacy work. Under my leadership Brook returned to a surplus in under 3 years, achieved its ambitious 2017-20 strategy, and successfully rebranded. I have diversified Brook’s income streams in order to futureproof its work, secured significant investment to expand its education work, launched new all age clinical services with a significant digital offer and developed strategic partnerships with global pharmaceutical brands. I look forward to delivering our 2020-23 strategy, which has a strong focus on championing equality, innovation, digital transformation and accessibility.

Prior to its merger with UK Youth in 2017, Ambition was the leading national youth charity, reaching half a million young people every year.During my 6 years there, I led substantial change management including organisational restructure, new governance arrangements, consolidated and strengthened the charity’s finances, oversaw a rebrand, and introduced a new youth sector quality standard.

As a consultant Director, I specialised in working with charities, social housing providers and the construction industry. I provided advice on development of corporate social responsibility strategies, led strategic planning and best value reviews. I worked with a number of charity boards to increase their governance skills, facilitate strategy days, reviewed policies and performance indicators, and supported succession planning and recruitment.

I was responsible for five foyers across East London and Essex providing accommodation linked to a holistic employment and training programmes for 450 disadvantaged young people. It was a new environment for young people’s housing and the role required a creative approach. I successfully lobbied for young people experiencing their first psychotic episode to be supported in a residential setting with their peers rather than an adult mental health service. East Thames became the largest provider of foyer accommodation in the UK.

Thomas Miller is a commercial insurance company in the City of London. I was responsible for the development and management of three mutual insurance companies providing professional negligence insurance. Key accountabilities included development of new business opportunities, external promotion of the schemes across the UK, management of the underwriting function and introduction of quality standards. I was the first female and youngest director of the company.
