Working as an Account Manager for Candlelight, supplying home accessories to key accounts. Providing a service for the customer and ensuring their range is produced to meet their requirements in the specified timescales. Working with a wide range of home decor products, I look after the processes of each product from sample creation to final delivery. I work closely with our internal design team to produce bespoke ranges, our QA team to ensure that quality guidlines are met and our shipping team to make sure deliveries are on schedule and prioritized where possible to meet launch dates. Coming from a Retail Buying background, it has allowed me to understand the needs of a Buyer and use the experience to develop my skills within this industry.

Working alongside the Buyer as a Category Buying Assistant on the DJ Gear and Lighting department at Maplin Electronics. The main role involved setting up new products for stores/web and choosing and setting forecasts for products on promotion.Tasks also included designing and signing off packaging briefs for Far East own brand products, assisting the Buyer to achieve range changes in a timely and well organised manor, liaising and building strong relationships with UK and FE suppliers and designing documentation to be sent to stores showing new range items.

Working as a Buyer’s Assistant on the Jewellery and Accessories department. I engaged in Admin tasks, as well as negotiating cost prices with suppliers, compiling competitive shop reports and presenting in weekly trade meetings. Tasks also included designing and developing samples, designing planograms for the visual merchandisers, providing sales analysis for directors and selecting product for mannequins and social media sites.

Working as a part of a temporary contract on the women’s woven department during a busy trading period. I assisted the buying and merchandising team with administrative support and tasks involved raising orders, attending fit sessions, chasing approval and sealer samples, managing the critical path, amending/cancelling purchase orders, managing the sample rails and assisting the buyers in preparation for meetings.Working with several departments in a fast paced environment enabled improvement in organisation and prioritization skills.

Working with jewellery for Superdrug and QS stores, I assisted the buying and merchandising team with administrative support. Roles included processing orders, chasing production samples, checking samples against original specification and logging on arrival, checking invoices and purchase orders, liaising with suppliers via email and telephone and checking the delivery dates and notifying suppliers on any changes to the critical path. I was able to use creative skills by creating boards for meetings, comprising a picture and sample library and visually merchandising the jewellery towers.
