Oporto is a fast growing premium QSR brand with over 180 stores across Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Dubai. Oporto is famous for its Bondi burger, legendary chilli sauce and flame grilled chicken. I led a fantastic team and over 100 franchise partners to expand the brand into new markets and to improve and innovate product range and convenience channels. Oporto is part of the Craveable Brands group which was acquired by PAG private equity in 2019.

Ampol (previously Caltex Australia) is an ASX50 company, and the largest fuel retailer in Australia with over 800 company operated sites, and a fuel distribution network of over 2,000 retail sites.Responsible for developing and delivering on Caltex retail growth strategy, through new formats and innovation (targeting $120-150M EBIT uplift over 5 years). Created successful “The Foodary” barista coffee and fresh food led format, rolling out to over 60 sites, with key products available nationally. Recognised as a leading retail concept globally by Euromonitor International and QSR Awards. Partnered with QSR brands including Guzman Y Gomez and Boost, becoming Boost’s largest franchisee with over 20 sites.Developed and executed Caltex Retail innovation pipeline including Caltex Spark Start Up Accelerator program, trial of new digital initiatives such as Fuel Pay and launch of Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Parcel Point and Drop Box partnerships.Oversight of investee businesses, including Nashi café and sandwich bar and Kitchen Food Company (Director Jun-17 – Jul-18).Led negotiation and execution of Convenience Partnership with Woolworths to roll-out 250 Metro stores at Caltex sites.Recruited and developed top retail talent. High performing team achieved CEO Award in both 2018 & 2019.

Set up Pricing & Promotions function to develop strategy, reporting and execution of our investment into lower prices, ultimately driving a turnaround in transaction growth. This investment was funded through a parallel focus on cost of goods and shrink optimisation, working through the entire value chain with our suppliers to find smarter ways to produce and distribute our products.

Led a high performing, cross-functional team to deliver on Woolworths new category growth strategy. Trialled, launched and rolled out over 15 new categories including: Sandwiches & Ready Meals, Sushi, Barista Coffee, Bulk Foods, Healthier Snacking, Premium Beauty & Wellness and Woolworths Connect (Telco).
