CurrentlyI was awarded a funded National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) studentship in 2023 at the University of Manchester to complete my PhD. I study and work as a part-time PhD researcher/ research associate in health psychology. My PhD title is ‘Improving equity of access to national breast screening programmes for ethnic minority women’. My supervisors are Professor David French, Dr Omolade Allen, & Dr Gillian Hutchison. I have an interest in women’s healthcare, health inequalities, access to service provision, mental & physical health, and intersectionality in healthcare contexts. I am also a mentor on the Manchester cancer postgraduate mentorship scheme. I have provided GTA support for modules on the BSc Psychology undergraduate course at Manchester.I’m also an associate lecturer (online and part-time) at the University of Wolverhampton. I am open to research opportunities and networking. Do get in touch. PreviouslyI held a senior project manager role in cancer services supporting service redesign. Please see role description for further information. I held a dual role at GMMH as a trial manager and as a researcher with lived experience. As a trial manager I worked across the life span on several NIHR multi-site portfolio studies for novel interventions in the field of mental health, clinical health psychology, family intervention, and developmental psychology. In my research role, I received an NIHR research capability funding award (~£24k) to prepare and write grant applications in the field of women’s healthcare, specifically trauma-informed care for recurrent miscarriage/ early pregnancy loss. Both from a researcher and lived experience perspective. I spoke with women, partners, and healthcare professionals with personal and professional experience of early pregnancy loss to inform my proposal. In addition to research, I’ve supervised research placement students and research volunteers.Recent publications:1. Senior Project ManagerGreater Manchester Cancer Alliance May 2023 - Aug 2023Manchester Area, United KingdomProject and operational management for Single Queue Diagnostics (SQD) across Greater Manchester (GM). SQD came about following the COVID19 recovery plan and a recommendation from the National Speciality Report for Lung Cancer - Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT). The expectation is to make a rapid and accurate diagnosis. With the target set for 5 days from referral to test. After a successful pilot for endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) the project is expanding to include local anaesthetic thoracoscopy (LAT) and CT image guided lung biopsy. Essentially, GM is offering a regional single-queue scheduling platform for specialist diagnostics in the lung and oesophageal cancer pathway. I work closely with colleagues at Civica (Infoflex) to ensure users have a suitable and fit for purpose platform for use. This involves testing the SQD platform, producing demonstration videos, and providing system management support. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35902134/
