• Supported the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in researching and organizing grant submissions for over $1 million in disaster grants, which hardened communities against hazards and benefitted localities suffering from disasters. • Provided administrative support to several VDEM divisions in the areas of procurement, Small Purchase Credit Card, merchandising, and general office support in compliance with Virginia Procurement regulations using eVA and Bank of America’s Works.• Utilized extended peer network to create a complete searchable list of every elected and appointed officials in all Virginia localities, greatly facilitating communication with state government.• Scheduled and coordinated classes to support the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, increasing local response, recovery and self-reliance capabilities. • Ensured transparency in government by supporting VDEM’s response to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and filing documents appropriately on the share drive.• Ensured proper disposition, destruction and archiving of divisional records in accordance with Library of Virginia Records Retention Procedures.
