An NCP is a European Commission mandated role to support access to and participation in Horizon Europe funding . My role is to support UK participants in applying to these large scale competitive collaborative grants in Cluster 6. This includes sustainable agriculture, food security, agroecology, soils and forestry.

I practiced as an independent agronomist working for arable farmers in Cheshire, Merseyside, and Lancashire. I provided technical crop management, including plant protection, crop nutrition and soil management. I worked closely with horticultural growers to prepare them for their Red Tractor and Global GAP farm audits. I worked with the growers to produce policies, procedures, risk assessments and records that reflect excellent farm practice and meet the auditor’s demands.

Representing Defra on the natural environment, rural and agricultural policy issues withinthe North West region.

I worked with farmers to develop diversification projects under the Rural Enterprise Scheme to support economic growth and opportunities for the rural economy.
