In a freelance capacity I am currently providing marketing supporting including researching and writing case studies, news stories and web and social media content.

Developing digital content, raising Cube's profile in Facebook groups and on LinkedIn, and supporting the sales team with identifying opportunities, copy writing and developing marketing materials.

My role involved identifying and assessing tender opportunities, co-ordinating timely input, preparation of content and documents including credentials presentations, costings, project schedules etc, submitting all documents on time, and seeking feedback. High profile international tender submissions I have worked on include Paris 24 Olympics flagship temporary megastore, Formula One trackside retail in 22 locations world-wide and UEFA 2024 hospitality branding for ten venues in Germany.

I started working freelance in March 2020 for a few hours a week assisting with the setting up of a new company and handling sales administration and a myriad of tasks associated with establishing and growing the business. I formally joined Cube Modular the following year. My work ranged from developing sales systems and procedures and managing key customer relationships and projects to writing copy for PR and marketing materials, website content and social media.

In a freelance capacity I have undertaken on-site project management and strategic support for entire revamps of Stroud and Cotswold District Council websites, including provision of standards specification and assisting with the tender process and recruitment of staff, development of new information architecture and overseeing design process, specifying new web applications, producing content and undertaking skills transfer.Smaller projects have involved reviewing website content and architecture and presenting a report of findings and recommendations for improvement.

I was a key member of the Better Connected team devising and undertaking Socitm's flagship annual survey into the state of development of local authority websites. I researched and authored supplementary material and reports including into councils’ use of social media, apps, the Planning Portal, publishing of election results and online communication surrounding flooding emergencies. We also undertook commissions to survey other public sector websites such as NHS services and the police.My consultancy work commissioned through Socitm has ranged from evaluating council sites, identifying improvements and presenting findings to on-site web project management and support in developing strategies and achieving council-wide commitment to the web presence. I have given many presentations on local authority website related topics at best practice conferences such as the annual Building Perfect Council Websites and Better Connected Live series and taken part in panel discussions and facilitated workshops. I also developed and ran a Socitm course on website best practice and strategy development and I have facilitated a forum for web managers on the Knowledge Hub.

I started out as a PR and Communications Officer in the Communications department and moved on to managing the Council's website content/design. I commissioned user panel testing and undertook a review of the site's design and content, developed a web strategy for the organisation and managed the process of overhauling the site, working with an external design agency. This also involved commissioning new features and working with departments to improve their content. I managed the development of the Education department's first intranet site linking all schools and its public web presence.

I worked for a small but rapidly growing PR agency specialising in IT.
