I am a senior manager & expert transport planner bringing over 18 years’ experience in the rail industry from across Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). I have worked with the full breadth of rail industry stakeholders including rail operators, infrastructure managers, public agencies and specialist advisory firms. I always bring my passion and energy for solving complex technical and business problems coupled with my love for the rail sector, to overcome day-to-day challenges, driven by the sense of accomplishment and reward when I see them through to a successful end.My comprehensive experience has been centered around engagement with different project teams and clients to develop technical, commercial, and business solutions for rail systems which maximise the effectiveness of investments and control operating costs, whilst achieving reliable, smooth, and attractive services for passengers.

    I was part of the core team supporting the Portuguese High-Speed Rail Authority (RAVE) on the definition of a Masterplan for the new High-Speed network connecting Lisbon to Madrid and Lisbon to Oporto. The project involved the development of service concepts for the new line, definition of solutions to integrate the new high-speed system with the conventional rail network (operating in a different gauge) and the main national airports, outlining an infrastructure plan, rolling stock strategy and planning layouts for stations and parking/maintenance facilities. As well as, the revision of the rail suburban strategic plans for the Metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Oporto.
