I have been on the Board of Directors with a local community theater organization (Oregon Straw Hat Players) for the last almost four years. It is a position you are elected to, and each term is two years. For two years straight, I was the secretary of the board. My duties included keeping the minutes for each monthly meeting and ensuring any updates that needed to be made were made. I had to summarize topics discussed in each meeting and record them accurately.

Institute for American Indian Studies. Working with a supervisor (Karen Larkin), another intern, and I spent the semester researching and putting together an exhibit that was supposed to be shown in the months following the internship. We focused a lot on chronic misrepresentation of Native Americans in the media. Some of the projects I worked on in that time included comparing notable events regarding Native Americans in the 20th century and how they were reported by mainstream US newspapers versus tribal newspapers and the murdered and missing Indigenous women crisis.
