In my role as Finance Manager, I have a range of duties.The most significant of these are the monthly management accounts for which I compile information from several departments, I then present this information to a board of Trustees made up of a number of local business leaders, local Council Members and the National Lottery. I produce yearly financial accounts and work closely with external auditors to ensure our accounts meet the highest quality. During my time I managed a large Fund provided by the National Heritage, to which I worked closely with other members of the team to firstly be awarded the fund, once awarded I then oversaw the allocation of the funds and managed the Purchase Order system to ensure all expenditure met the guidelines set out by our internal systems. Completion of the quarterly Group VAT for the charity and its subsidiary. I also oversee credit control and the allocation of internal controls, payroll for up to 50 members of staff and the receivables/payables. I have also trained an apprentice and have managed a small team beneath me. I work closely with the COO and the Board of Trustees to continuously push the Charity forward, increasing workflow in my department and others and ultimately increasing the longevity of the Charity.
