About Helena Salgado

As a mental health counselor, my mission is to promote comprehensive, pleasure-focused, non-judgmental, medically accurate, LGBTQ+ inclusive sexual health education to the masses. As a woman of color, I firmly believe that the best way to create change and support individuals is through a holistic counseling approach that considers both their individual experiences and their context. My passion for social justice, has led me to create La Boca Mojada, an activist project that promotes gender equality through sexual empowerment and sexual education. With La Boca Mojada, I have built a community of over 22,000 million people, led conferences in different countries, and recorded podcasts. I have also successfully led La Boca Mojada's team, and developed long lasting relationships with her customers and community. My experience at the Boston Rape Crisis Center has given me the training and therapeutic skills to provide evidence based counseling services to survivors of sexual trauma through different therapeutic modalities. My mission is to contribute, with my practice, to a more equitable, tolerant and inclusive society.
