I am working in the Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES, located in Prague, Czech Republic) which is public research institution dealing primarily with applied research in higher/tertiary education. The main areas of my interest and research work have been connected with quality assurance and quality culture, internationalisation with respect to the Bologna process and its priorities, higher education management and governance and collaboration of higher education institutions with external stakeholders. In 2004-2008, I coordinated the multinational OECD project “Thematic Review of Tertiary Education”, during 2011-2013 I was the international co-ordinator of the research project “Identifying barriers in promoting the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance at institutional level and making recommendations as to how these might be addressed” supported from LLP programme. I was international coordinator of the PERIF project ("The contribution of higher education institutions to strengthen socio-economic development of peripheral regions in Norway and the Czech Republic" (201-2017, Czech Norwegian research programme) and national team leader of the IQAT project ("Enhancing Capacities in Implementation of Institutional Quality Assurance Systems and Typology Using Bologna Process Principles", 2015-2017, Erasmus +). My current interest is focused on quality assurance/accreditation in higher education and on collaboration of higher education institutions with external partners.
