I worked on the business analysis and digital strategy for the relaunch of the Big Idea creative community on a Drupal platform in 2006. I went on to write a series of over 50 columns on digital media strategy, tools and platforms for creative entrepreneurs in the MsBehaviour Files at the Big Idea.

Virtual MC and live host for InterCommunity 2015, the first global meeting of the Internet Society’s membership streaming live around the world. With participation from 20 live node events in Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America and Europe plus an online audience interconnected as part of a global conversation.

The Yahoo!NZ Digital Strategy Awards focussed on the key role media strategy plays in the success of digital campaigns, to recognise and reward smart digital thinking.

Member of the inaugural advisory panel for Creative Commons Aotearoa NZ, a non-profit organisation that helps people share their copyright works for reuse by others. During this time NZGOAL was launched, with New Zealand the first government in the world to adopt an open access and licensing framework.

Presented and produced an animated science and technology show on Alt.TV Broadcasting free-to-air in Auckland and on SKY TV. theg33kshow continued for three more years as a weekly radio/streaming/podcast show on the Radio Wammo Breakfast Show, Kiwi Fm

DigitalNZ is an initiative with nearly 200 partners, led by the National Library of New Zealand. They test and develop approaches that increase the amount of New Zealand digital content available for use. Items are contributed from partners including Te Papa, the Alexander Turnbull Library, Auckland Art Gallery, Te Ara, NZ On Screen and more.

Teaching Fellow for the Identity and the Internet and Professional Practice courses on the Bachelor of Design Innovation at the School of Design Innovation, Victoria University of Wellington. The courses combine students from three specialist areas: Culture+Context, Industrial Design and Media Design.

Developed the Professional Practice syllabus for the Graduate Diploma in Digital Media, on launching and growing a creative agency. Yoobee School of Design, previously Natcoll, offers courses for a career in the creative design industries.

Launched an electronic record label selling New Zealand music through an international digital distribution network, including a label deal with top hard dance label Tidy Trax (UK). I also hosted a weekly streaming/podcast show on Twisted Radio show and performed as a Mohawk Media VJ at live events across the country.

Founding Editor of KnowledgeBoard, an award-winning global community for knowledge and innovation run by the European Commission's KM Forum. I managed over sixty international Special Interest Group (SIG) editors online from New Zealand working with a technical team based in the UK and the EKMF team in Brussels/Stuttgart.KnowledgeBoard was voted Best of.

Digital media producer for large scale online community platforms at a multi-national web agency, working directly with clients, strategy, content, technical and creative teams based across three countries. Circle/Euro RSCG is now Havas Worldwide Group, the largest digital media network in the world.

Developed and delivered a ten-week 'CIT Certificate in Global Communications' in Bristol, which was the first accredited Internet technologies course in the UK, from the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES). I also developed a distance learning programme 'All you need to know about the Internet' (Digital Cognition, 1998) for UK.

Produced specialist publications and guides such as Inside/Out and the UK Animation Directory for Venue Publishing. My first article on the internet was published by Venue Magazine in 1994 and I continued working as a freelance writer until emigrating to New Zealand in 2001.

Launched a web start-up selling health and wellness products online and through a UK wide distribution network. I learned about web design, e-commerce and marketing then moved into providing internet training for individuals and SMEs.

By day I dealt with walk in enquiries, technical assessments and interviews for temporary workers, and managed contract placements in local telecommunications and blue chip organisations. By night and at weekends I worked at a start-up providing advertising data to media professionals. This inspired me to launch my own company.

I worked in Head Office and a network of branches across Bristol, and was promoted to Customer Services Manager of the Cotham branch. I was responsible for providing financial advice and services, managing the weekly cash reserves, branch staff and audits.
