Dance is a wonderful way for children to make new friends, build confidence and enhance their social skills. It is an expression of your child’s personality and a way for them to explore who they are. Dancing is a relaxed and enjoyable way to keep fit, both physically and mentally, whilst improving strength, coordination, stamina and flexibility. It also encourages the release of happy endorphins. Working closely with the teachers and other dancers can help your child to develop creativity, communication, teamwork and leadership skills that are transferable with many other aspects of their life. There are many ways in which the children can develop their skills, and they may even choose to take part in competitions, examinations and shows. But most importantly, dancing is great fun! In April 2013, I moved to the East Midlands because of my husbands role with a national tv company.I cover throughout Rutland and it's neighbouring counties. As a cover teacher, often called a supply teacher, there are generally three types of work I can expect. First is a “long term placement”, teaching my own subject (Art). With more than a decade of design experience, I have the perfect skills to ensurie brides get their dream dress at a price they can afford. My designs range from traditional gowns in ivory shades to fabulous wedding dresses in any colour. The design process is free of charge, and includes an initial consultation, creation of inceptive designs and fabric sourcing. If you like what you see, a toile is constructed bringing the dress to life for further consideration, before professional wedding ateliers create the gown from a couture pattern made from the brides measurements. A final fitting allows for finishing touches and ensures the fit is absolutely perfect, so each and every bride looks completely unique and feels utterly amazing on her wedding day. It can be very demanding, but the final results are always worth the effort.

I led and co-ordinated the School Improvement Plan initiatives within the Art Department at the behest of the Assistant Head Teacher in order to raise attainment of all students and support in the development of targeted areas of learning, to meet school targets.I improved and executed strategies, including the process of school self-evaluation,processes and systems for quality assurance within my subject specialism. I understood and practiced teaching & learning management, whilst effectively managing people, planning and resources.My key accountabilities included monitoring and evaluating pupil progress targets. identifying departmental aims and targets in order to contribute positively to the fulfilment of the School Improvement Plan. Consequently, I provided regular progress updates to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure both they and governors were fully aware of all successes, issues and concerns. I worked with other Lead Learners and Senior Leadership team members in the delivering of whole school initiatives and promotion of innovative teaching and learning developments. I have outstanding skills in self-awareness social-awareness, self management and relationship management.

I was a teacher of KS3, KS4 and KS5, dedicated with high expectations of my students. Organisation and innovation are amongst my innate skills and I am highly motivated with regard to raising the educational standards of my pupils. I teach transferable skills and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own learning, to become more independent, resourceful and conscientious.I demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge and ensure I keep up to date with the fast, ever changing and developing Art world. I teach a variety of 2d and 3d schemes of work which provides my pupils with a diverse range of practical skills and the comprehension of critical and contextual concepts. I adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils. I am therefore confident and experienced in challenging high achieving, gifted and talented pupils, as well as engaging and supporting less able students and those with SEN and EAL needs.I aim to contribute to the wider community life of the school by fulfilling broader professional responsibilities. I utilized my professional dance education a number of times and am always willing to go the extra mile. I develop relationships naturally and establish a strong rapport with colleagues, parents and the pupils I teach. Whilst at Phoenix, I ran lunch-time and after-school Art Clubs, as well as Saturday intervention groups for GCSE and A-level students.

The fundamental responsibility of my role was supporting students and teaching staff in the learning environment. Support included one-to-one assistance with literacy, language skills and numeracy, or it took the form of note-taking in class or providing individual and/or group support in the classroom under the guidance and supervision of the teaching staff, in all class subjects.I gained extensive knowledge of the different types of SEN and strategies of how to deal with each need specifically. I produced a number of resources for use in ‘differentiation’ in a wide variety of subjects. Flexibility was key and where possible, dependent upon the support required, utilising personal strengths was integrated.I was responsible for the administration of pupils IEP’s and documents to monitor their progress. I ran and supported the ‘School Homework Club’ and “Handwriting Club” with small groups of pupils with significant success. I attended various training courses to learn about the numerous needs of the pupils I was supporting and how best to support them.

I performed a wide variety of dance styles including: Lyrical Jazz, Broadway Jazz & Contemporary Pop (with strong technical control; jumps, leaps turns, extensions all interwoven into contemporary choreography) and Modern Ballet. My art skills were utilised and I offered poetry classes onboard.

My initial role was as a dancer, performing two shows per evening. My Cruise Staff duties included assisting the Entertainment Director; providing passenger activities, socialising, hosting special events, providing entertainment for the ‘Junior Sailors' and Teens Club. I utilized my education in Art and Textile and Design and was invited to be the Arts & Crafts Teacher on board, provided classes in painting, ceramics and various craft projects for adults and children. In 2002 I was promoted to Head Dancer/Line Captain. I managed a team of 8 entertainers including dancers and vocalists. I was responsible for the planning of rehearsals, re-blocking choreography, backstage organisation, costume maintenance, team punctuality, appearance and performance standards. I also produced set designs because of my artistic skills and willingness to fulfil wider responsibilities on-board.
