After completing my Degree in Textile Design, I followed my secondary passion, dance, and worked aboard cruise ships for four years. I found the work to be diverse and engaging whilst affording the opportunity to travel extensively and experience other cultures and religions. Upon returning to the UK I decided to pursue my primary passion, art and design. I had often considered teaching and gained employment as an LSA to investigate the prospect. I loved working with children and found the work incredibly gratifying. My success as a teacher is a result of excellent organisational and communication skills combined with my attention to detail and innate creative capabilities. I do not consider teaching to be a job, but a passion! In addition to teaching and being a busy Mum, I design haute couture wedding gowns and each Saturday teach dance at my local stage school.

PrincipalCurtain Upp Sep 2015 - PresentUppinghamDance is a wonderful way for children to make new friends, build confidence and enhance their social skills. It is an expression of your child’s personality and a way for them to explore who they are. Dancing is a relaxed and enjoyable way to keep fit, both physically and mentally, whilst improving strength, coordination, stamina and flexibility. It also encourages the release of happy endorphins. Working closely with the teachers and other dancers can help your child to develop creativity, communication, teamwork and leadership skills that are transferable with many other aspects of their life. There are many ways in which the children can develop their skills, and they may even choose to take part in competitions, examinations and shows. But most importantly, dancing is great fun! We are here to support and encourage your child and to make our school a place your children are eager to visit each week, for another dance class. -
Cover TeacherMana Resourcing Ltd (Arteacher.Co.Uk) Apr 2013 - PresentEast MidlandsIn April 2013, I moved to the East Midlands because of my husbands role with a national tv company.I cover throughout Rutland and it's neighbouring counties. As a cover teacher, often called a supply teacher, there are generally three types of work I can expect. First is a “long term placement”, teaching my own subject (Art). The second is the “prebooked placement”, which means I know where I am going before I get up the next day, and the third is the “emergency placement”.5 Reasons to Hire Me1) I’ll arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the day.2) I’m up-to-date on curriculum issues and will facilitate continued professional development.3) I can provide my own classroom resources, so that I can stand alone in emergency bookings.4) I mark any written work and will leave the classroom tidy and ready for the next day.5) I always leave a comprehensive handover note for the class teacher that I am covering. All bookings must be made with Mana Education Resources on freephone 08000 255 144More recently, having danced for more than twenty years and recognising the important experiences and social skills it provided me with, I opened Curtain Upp Stage School to provide local children with the opportunity of investigating their own creative skills, from ballet to tap, acrobatics to modern dance. -
Creative DirectorGown2Glam Jul 2013 - Jun 2017UppinghamWith more than a decade of design experience, I have the perfect skills to ensurie brides get their dream dress at a price they can afford. My designs range from traditional gowns in ivory shades to fabulous wedding dresses in any colour. The design process is free of charge, and includes an initial consultation, creation of inceptive designs and fabric sourcing. If you like what you see, a toile is constructed bringing the dress to life for further consideration, before professional wedding ateliers create the gown from a couture pattern made from the brides measurements. A final fitting allows for finishing touches and ensures the fit is absolutely perfect, so each and every bride looks completely unique and feels utterly amazing on her wedding day. It can be very demanding, but the final results are always worth the effort.
