I specialise in relationship counselling and coping with mental health issues and the impact this has. I volunteer on a regular basis with a charity who support carers that need help and support as they may struggle to cope with their loved ones. I have experience working with clients suffering from panic attacks, lack of self-esteem, anxiety, trauma related issues and depression. My work as a University Mentor for students with mental health challenges further supports this.I worked within HR for over 20 years and have developed extensive relationships with a diverse range of people and it is my ability to empathise and connect with people which has led me to this career change.     I was responsible for the Office Management and the HR function. Cwind was a really fast growing Company that had seen rapid growth over a short period of time and subsequently the back office side of the operation needed to get up to speed. I completed a review of existing HR files and followed up on missing information, during this process I was also setting up and introducing new procedures such as review documentation, new starter paperwork, right to work checks and personal details. I also reviewed the Company handbook and worked on urgent updates needed. Whilst there we also moved office to a larger premises and I had complete responsibility for the set up and implementation of the whole operation. This involved facilities and set up, liaising with new suppliers & Alarm Company, furniture ordering, arranging insurance and dealing with lease requirements. Other areas I developed were the new receptionist & Administrator role and I produced job descriptions for these and carried out the training. During my time I also managed a property portfolio the Company had. Other responsibilities included preparation of payroll and bonus information, grievance and disciplinary, developing contracts & induction review & working with SHEQ manager on future ISO requirements.

I am responsible for carrying out all aspects of the Human Resource function and oversee the day to day running of the Office team which includes IT, Reception and the delivery team. This has resulted in auditing existing arrangements and paperwork and introducing a more robust system. The delivery team now have a monthly 121 review and all other colleagues a 6 month review followed by an annual appraisal. I have also re launched attendance management procedures and the tracking of this. I have also carried out a full file audit and review of pay and job descriptions. In addition to this I have also instigated disciplinary procedures where needed and conducted grievances.Staff training and development has also been an area which I have concentrated on along with improving communication throughout the company. My current project is revising the Induction programme and package and simplifying the related documentation. I also work closely with the Finance Manager to manage costs and oversee facilities management and payroll.
