About Helen Champion
I am a self-employed hypnotherapist, and a registrant member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. I am also a qualified counsellor, and a registrant member of the National Counselling Society. This is work that I hugely enjoy, because it’s about helping people to create changes in their lives. Maybe you know what you want to achieve but feel stuck and can’t work out how to get there. Or perhaps you don’t even know where you want to get to, but just that you’re not happy where you are. Either way, please do get in touch to talk about how I could support you. The first half hour is free - this is usually just an informal chat on the phone, for me to find out more about what you want to work on, and for you to ask questions, and then you can make a decision about how you want to move forwards. 1-1 sessions are £70/hour and can be arranged flexibly to work around your needs. Face to face sessions are in Eastleigh (near Southampton, in Hampshire), and I also work online.Look forward to hearing from you!

I maintain meteorological data archives for dispersion work, contribute to emergency response preparedness, and manage the team's intranet site.As part of the Atmospheric Dispersion and Air Quality (ADAQ) group, the primary purpose of my work is to maintain and enhance the capability of the Met Office to provide scientific support to the UK government, its agencies and other academic institutes during emergency situations. These can include volcanic eruptions, nuclear incidents, animal and plant disease outbreaks and large fires.I am increasingly involved in the development of operational emergency response computer systems which assist staff responding to such events.I am updating and cataloguing the Numerical Atmospheric-dispersion Modelling Environment (NAME) meteorological data archives covering 1994 to the present day, and verifying data integrity in the process. This work also involves maintaining and documenting user interfaces to the Met Office-wide meteorological archives, which are vital for dispersion work.I am managing a complete overhaul of the ADAQ group's intranet site.I am a STEM ambassador, and have visited two primary schools in this capacity, linking pupils' learning activities to weather forecasting and dispersion modelling, and promoting STEM careers by helping to engage children in these subjects at an early age.
