Grow With Google:Planning and delivering hands-on trainings for educators on an as-needed basis. These trainings focus on utilizing the Applied Digital Skills curriculum with students. This is a free project-based digital literacy curriculum recently released by Google via the Grow With Google non-profit initiative. The units are designed for teachers to use in a blended learning environment and include content for both college and continuing education students and middle through high school students. The project-themed units focus on developing digital skills and workplace skills, such as collaboration, communication, and problem-solving, using G Suite applications.Kentucky Educational Television:Worked as part of a small team to move two conventional adult education courses to an online learning management system, which is Moodle based. My work has included proofing, editing, organizing content and building assessments.Edvergent Learning: Assisted the team in analyzing and testing the Converge 3.3 platform to identify problem areas.

Topics included tools for blended learning, Google for educators, PBS LearningMedia, video production techniques, and effective use of KET’s resources.Collaborated in the development of online educational videos and support materials, including a series of modules on classroom video production using Moodle.Worked collaboratively with a team of five other education consultants, coordinating special events, managing special projects, and promoting KET’s educational resources and services.Consulted in person with library media specialists and other educators throughout my region.Planned and conducted workshops for Kentucky students. Topics included basic video production, green screen use, video editing, photo editing, and online creation tools.Organized and hosted school visits to KET. These would generally include a tour of the facility, meeting production staff and learning about their roles, and at least one workshop.Coordinated the annual KET Young Writers Contest, a statewide contest with an average of 600 participants. This included working with the production department to create a TV spot, with the web team to develop the site, with the print department to create certificates and other materials, and with members of the education division to receive, document, and judge the work submitted. Rearranged the fiction collection by genre to make the collection more welcoming to students and the physical space to improve traffic flow and supervision of students.Coordinated the publication of an annual book of student poetry and special events, such as an annual performance by Shakespeare Alive!, part of the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival’s outreach program and Read O’ Rama, an annual school wide program to promote reading and discussion of young adult literature.
