German mezzo-soprano Helene Lang graduated from the Young Artist Program of The Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen in 2011. Since then she has appeared in operas, concerts and oratorios throughout Europe.Helene Lang won first prize in the German music competition, Bundeswettbewerb Jugend Musiziert.She has worked with orchestras such as the London Sinfonietta, Royal Danish Symphony Orchestra, South Denmark Philharmonic, Camerata Crucianorum and Collegium Musicum Heidelberg and with conductors such as Michael Schønwandt, Christian Badea, Tobias Ringborg, David Porcelijn, Matthew Toogood and Martin Nagashima Toft.She has appeared in opera houses such as the Royal Danish Opera, Theater Erlangen and Gran Teatro Elche in Spain, and her opera roles include Mozart’s Dorabella, Cherubino and Sesto as well as Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, title role in Händels Xerxes, title role in Carmen and Amor and Fortuna in Monteverdi’s The Coronation of Poppea.Helene Lang has established herself as one of the leading performers of contemporary music in Scandinavia. She has appeared in several festivals and CD-recordings with works by contemporary composers, and she has sung world premieres of works by Ylva Lund Bergner, Nicolai Worsaae, Kaspar Winding and German composer Tilo Medek.She founded the cabaret ensemble Kurt Weill Factory and has performed her own shows at venues in Copenhagen such as Tivoli and Betty Nansen Theatre, as well as at several concert venues in Berlin, Hamburg and Freiburg.Future concert appearences include the solo parts in J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and in Mendelssohn’s Paulus.
