I’ve been a content writer & copywriter for 35+ years. I know – that’s a heck of a lot of experience! I started as a freelance magazine journalist working for titles like Elle, Marie Claire and Red then sashayed into commercial writing for businesses. The common denominator? Words! I f***ing love ’em! Can’t leave them alone!Over the years I’ve written for a gorgeous mix of clients – magician, mediator, interior designer, executive coach, semi-permanent make-up artist, software engineer, accountant, care home, marketing consultant, event organizer, recruitment tech company.It’s been a thrill to work across so many different, mostly B2B, industries: poking my journalist’s nose in to find out what makes them tick; nailing their USP; pimping up their brand personality; crafting attention-grabbing content.But that was then. I now focus on female founders who deliver beauty & wellness products/services to women in their fifties and beyond.Why the shift?Well, a big birthday on the horizon for one. Now that I’m hitting a certain milestone, it feels like the right time to embrace the pro-age movement and use my writing expertise to be part of it. I want to work with female founders who celebrate, and cater to, older women like me so we can stay visible and vibrant.I’d also lost sight of why I named my business Trumpet Media. I used to meet so many female founders who were painfully timid at ‘selling’ themselves in their marketing, and I wanted to use my words to toot their horn and big them up. It was time to get back to that trumpet-blowing!Oh – and doh! – I remembered how much I love anything to do with wellness. I’ve tried reiki, herbal supplements, acupuncture, aromatherapy, meditation and more.
