Helen Hamill was born and lives in Enniskillen. She studied Music and Mathematics in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth. Here she studied piano at RIAM and under Anthony Byrne, Helen’s vocal performance tutelage was under the late Frank Capper. Helen taught locally in St Fanchea’s and then Mount Lourdes – being responsible for choral music in both colleges. She has been involved for many years in local Féiseanna and more recently in many Musicals and Pantomimes.Helen recently resigned from the position of Director of Music with St Michael’s Church Choir. Her choir performed this year for Her Majesty the Queen, and have recently performed solo on BBC Songs of Praise. While under her direction the choir recorded the CD "Age to Age - generations of song".Helen is actively involved in performing, arranging and directing music of many genres.Currently working with Enniskillen Light Operatic, musical director of "Anything Goes" - Cole Porter.

While she taught in Mount Lourdes Grammar School she had responsibility for all the school’s choral groups.She was organist and directed St Michael's Church Choir until 2013. Under her guidance the choir performed for Her Majesty the Queen, and featured on BBC Songs of Praise. They also recorded a CD of choral music in May 2013, "Age to Age" (Generations of song) which raised almost £10,000 for local charity. Over the years Helen has directed many musical theatre productions in the area.Helen in 2014 founded and directs Caritas, a new vibrant choir and performance force.

CaritasCaritas is a mixed-voice choir, formed in 2014 featuring local singers from the Enniskillen area. They rehearse in Fermanagh House on Friday evenings. Within Caritas, in addition to the choral performances, the choir love to feature the talents of some traditional musicians, brass players and many capable vocal soloists from within the group.The group have a wide repertoire of choral works which enables them to perform at any event. It encompasses Classical, Religious, Easy listening, Musical Theatre and Traditional Irish Vocal Music. John Anderson during their recent radio broadcast on BBC, described Caritas saying "it is impossible not to be genuinely impressed with the infectious atmosphere and the love that they have for the choir, and for what they do". The choir welcome invitations to perform.They have been broadcast on BBC radio, performed recently for Fermanagh Trust , and a concert of carols with Desmond Hunter (organ). I taught in a local grammar school for 20 yearsI perform as an instrumentalist and vocalist...now as a freelance musician i enjoy my music.As a singer myself i am a vastly experienced choral director, still perform and arrange music for many ensembles. As Choral director in St Michael's Enniskillen, I began as assistant and then took over formally. During which time the choir thrived, and at its peak in 2013 recorded a Choral CD, appeared as a musical item on BBC Songs Of Praise (2012) and Sang for Her Majesty Queen in 2012.Am involved in directing musical theatre productions.

I have vocally directed many shows which include productions with Enniskillen Players, Mount Lourdes Grammar School, Enniskillen Light Operatic.Ranging from the inaugural musical in the Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen- Scrooge (1986) to the most recent Enniskillen Light Operatic production of "Anything Goes" (2013).Have rehearsed and directed pit of up to 13 professional players.Other shows I have directed include:A Christmas Carol.Oklahoma.OliverMy Fair Lady.Anything Goes.Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat.Annie Get your Gun.
