Between 2013 and 2020, the programme awarded around €1 billion of funding to UK organisations, providing international learning opportunities to students, staff, trainees, volunteers and young people.I was responsible for managing the day-to-day operational delivery of Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Youth mobility projects and led a team of 10-12 staff members working on the programme. This included allocation of the yearly budget, reporting on KPIs and work programme targets. I implemented and managed key grant management systems and processes such as grant assessment, selection, reporting/claims and monitoring processes. I also carried out compliance checks and ensured compliance with programme rules. I supported the promotion of the programme at national level, and delivered presentations and training aimed at increasing awareness of the programme and at building capacity amongst grant holders. I built relationships with organisations in the charitable, community and voluntary sectors and developed awareness of how grants are managed within these sectors.

Project Manager on the Erasmus+ Key Action 1 VET and adult education team at the National Agency, delivering key grant management processes for Erasmus+ VET and adult education mobility projects and providing direct support to a caseload of projects. I worked as part of a team of 15 staff and had 1-2 direct reports, leading on the delivery of key grant management tasks such as assessing grant applications and grant monitoring.I assisted in the development of new grants management processes, training staff in how to deliver grants management work to deadlines and creating technical documents for staff as well as programme guidance documents for the public.I also worked on the ECVET Experts initiative, which aimed to increase awareness and use of the European Credit System for VET (ECVET). ECVET enables learning gained from vocational training abroad to be recognised and validated. I coordinated a team of ECVET Experts, organised meetings with stakeholders, policy makers and VET providers and was involved in promoting the initiative more widely.
