I'm currently seconded into Operational Systems as the Senior Geospatial Advisor at NEMA (New Zealand's National Emergency Management Agency). My role is to improve our strategic use of geospatial information in emergency management, and to foster collaboration with other agencies. During response, I provide geospatial support to the Intelligence function within our National Coordination Centre (NCC), providing situational awareness and fostering greater understanding of the event. I'm also the committee secretary of GEMA (Geospatial Emergency Management Aotearoa), a community of over 700 professionals with a keen interest in geospatial use in Emergency Management.
