The Impact Programme at New Bamboo involved developing tech solutions to global social challenges.New Bamboo (now part of Thoughtbot) is a leading web-based software company and the impact programme was a great way for the team to test out new software, work with inspirational partners and directly engage in finding solutions to some of the biggest global challenges we face.My role with New Bamboo was a short term consultancy role and involved developing the programme and seeking out partners from charities, international development and NGO fields to develop and form a partnership for new impact projects.

The role included:• Successful bid & programme development for multiple multi-million pound overseas project management contracts.• Management Consultant advising on impact and sustainability outcomes from Catalyst & Impact Funds• Specific Role support to the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (Independent scrutiny of UK aid spending, reporting directly to Parliament) – Key role on ICAI private sector development review that looked critically at the direct engagement that DFID has with businesses in encouraging and facilitating development outcomes from private sector recipients & commercial partners. This included a detailed review of the work DFID is supporting through impact investing, social enterprise start-ups and SME support as well as assessing against key sustainability and development indicators.• Independent & Internal audits of government contracts for overseas expenditure.
