In addition to being responsible for business operations and financial controls across the firm's 9 regional offices, was also engaged in a number of strategic change initiatives to improve profitability and the efficiency of business operations. This involved close liaison with the firm's global leadership team as well as the operations and finance teams in the USA and Europe.

Was appointed to carry out a 2 year assignment as COO for the Asian offices of international law firm Ashurst based in Hong Kong and retained for Special Projects. The role focused on restructuring the support teams within the Asia region in line with global initiatives; troubleshooting and advising on internal control issues, and providing guidance and support on business operations, finance and tax to the local partners and functional teams.

Responsible for all aspects of the operational support of international law firm Clifford Chance in Asia Pacific; overseeing policy and processes; managing the teams in accounting, human resources, office services, knowledge management, business development, compliance and technology. Working closely with senior stakeholders including Managing Partners, the Global COO and Global CFO to deliver strategic initiatives across the region including mergers, new offices, business and process improvement and cost saving plans. A member of the Global Operations Group which was established to facilitate a co-ordinated approach to the management of the Firm across all regions. During my 10 years as COO, the Asia Pacific more than doubled to 1,000 staff across 10 offices generating revenue representing 20% of the Firm's global business.

Responsible for overseeing the finance function of international law firm Clifford Chance in Asia Pacific including budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and reporting. Managed a regional accounting team of 25, supervised accounting processes and internal controls. Successfully managed the implementation of the Firm's global practice management system in Asia Pacific. Promoted to Regional COO in 2006.

Managed the accounting teams based in the Asia region with responsibility for financial controls, financial review and analysis and reporting. Led and was responsible for transitioning of the accounting systems and processes from London to Asia.

Trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the Audit Department of EY based in Glasgow, UK in 1992. In 1994, selected for an overseas secondment to Hong Kong upon promotion to Audit Manager. Responsible for co-ordinating audit assignments from the planning stage through to completion, developing technical, client handling and team management skills throughout the assignments.
