As a member of the organisation I have been responsible for the educational representation and welfare issues of students at Bangor University. This has included independent educational advice and representation, and a role in spear heading the Course Representative system.I was responsible for the Union’s Education remit, with particular focus on mattersof national and local education policy, funding and quality and covered matters of Postgrad education.I was responsible for the coordination of the Union’s role in the course representative system and ran change campaigns on matters of student welfare, such as Mind Your Head week. I wrote a successful grant from the National Lottery in order to put on Suicide Awareness workshops and train the trainer sessions for staff and students at the university and student's union.I wrote monthly reports and engaged with social media to ensure my work was communicated to students, writing and providing articles for Union publications, including the website. I undertook a placement at a Salvation Army run Summer sleep away camp for underprivileged children. I worked as a camp counsellor, looking after children ages 5-9 and supported them throughout their time at Camp Ladore. My duties ranged from assisting in the running of activities, to filling out report forms to local children's authorities based on the knowledge disclosed to us.
