My role at Enviresearch involves data gap analysis reports, technical equivalence reviews and consumer risk assessments for Plant Protection Products, Biocidal product registration and REACH dossiers.My specific expertise lies in the Biocidal Product Regulation, including notifications and registrations of biocides under transitional measures, data gap analysis, human health risk assessments and environmental risk assessments for biocides.I am also involved in the marketing of our biocide services; producing flyers, contributing to technical insight content for newsletters and LinkedIn as well as attending conferences as an exhibitor. I both project managed and authored much of the Enviresearch biocides eBook “Beginner’s Guide to Biocidal Product Regulations” published in January 2024 in conjunction with the rest of the Regulatory Affairs team at Enviresearch.

• Core responsibilities as part of a global regulatory affairs team include coordinating the preparation and compiling of technical sections of dossiers for use in antifouling paint product registrations under local European authorisation systems and the Biocidal Products Regulation. • Providing risk assessment expertise through writing BPR Product Assessment Reports, waiver arguments for non-submission of data, and developing scientific justifications.• Understanding national and EU laws relating to registration of biocidal and antifouling products. Monitoring, interpreting and disseminating new or revised guidance and legislation to the biocides team and relevant business areas. • Knowledge and use of environmental risk assessment methodology including MAMPEC and awareness of toxicological and ecotoxicological issues relevant to antifouling products. Development of novel MAMPEC model scenarios for BPR product registration submissions.• Experience using human risk assessment exposure models to assess exposure of chemicals in products to users through a working knowledge of biology and chemistry relevant to antifouling products. • Training of the biocides team in all aspects of biocidal and antifouling registration requirements and technical methodologies. Production of a full range of Standard Operating Procedures for all areas of the team’s work. • Working closely with the biocides Team Leader regarding team activities, resource planning and project allocation. • Involvement supporting global antifouling product registrations including Australasia and the USA. Contribution to circulating relevant global regulatory developments to regional colleagues.• Coordinating with external laboratories and consultants to fulfil data requirements for biocidal product submissions under the BPR.
