Executive support role to the Director of Campaigns and Policy. I was the logistics lead for a week-long skillshare training event for 80 international colleagues held in Bangkok. I designed and delivered a successful media stunt in New York for our anti-inequality campaign, buying props and directing our actors. I also edited and published an internal current affairs magazine, and built and managed intranet sites for colleagues in the Federation. I also contract managed and supported an external consultancy that ActionAid International had engaged to design and roll-out a culture change programme on Corporate Engagement.

I work on the Children and Families Bill, advising policy teams and ministers on parliamentary process and supporting delivery.The Bill is due for introduction to the House of Commons in January 2013. Priority measures currently in the Bill include: Special Educational Needs and Disability; Adoption reform; Parental leave arrangements (BIS); Family Justice review; and reform of the Office of the Children's Commissioner.

The National Expert in Professional Training (NEPT) Programme is designed to give civil servants a 5 month insight into how the European Commission in Brussels functions. I worked on the MEDIA MUNDUS film support programme and on Media Literacy policy, providing organisational support to the Expert Group on Media Literacy.

Background on UKCCIS: The UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS) brings together government, industry and charities to work in partnership to keep children and young people safe online by creating a safer online environment, improving online safety education and raising public awareness of how to enjoy the benefits of the internet safely.The purpose of my role was to develop and communicate Government policy; to provide strategic input into the direction and current workplan for UKCCIS and to drive progress on two council project groups. In June 2011 I project-managed an annual Summit event for 180 UKCCIS members in partnership with NSPCC. I was also responsible for delivering a comprehensive stocktake presentation for DfE and Home office Ministers on the progress of UKCCIS in meeting its objectives.

The National Challenge was an ambitious school improvement programme designed to ensure that at least 30 per cent of pupils in every maintained secondary school and Academy in England achieves at least five higher grade GCSEs including English and Maths by 2011.As part of the policy team I was responsible for ensuring sustainable improvements in schools in Sheffield, East Riding, Calderdale, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Poole. This involved working with headteachers, advisors, local authorities and others to ensure schools had the resources and support needed to improve their results.
