As Digital Director at Lambda Legal, I am responsible for planning, curating, and developing meaningful content that drives awareness of and engagement with the organization's mission to fight for full recognition of the civil rights of LGBTQ+ people and everyone living with HIV. I am working to increase our digital presence and brand visibility among potential donors, influencers, and targeted audiences through establishing an integrated social media, email and web communications strategy. I currently supervise our Social Media Manager, Digital Content Manager, Web Manager and Digital Outreach Manager, as well as consultants.

As a member of the BRC Board of Directors, I manage our social media and marketing efforts to elevate our mission to connect the bisexual+ community and help its members thrive. I plan social media strategy for our #BiHealthMonth and #BiWeek annual campaigns, driving international #BiHealthMonth engagement to more than 12 million impressions in 2022.

In this role, I led collaboration between the organization's grantmaking, capacity building and policy programs to elevate our mission to end the HIV epidemic in the United States through strategic integration of digital and traditional media strategies. I managed and grew the organization’s social media footprint (by 10%) across all organizational platforms, including launching #ThereIsHelp partnership with Twitter to share HIV testing information (2021-2022). I supervised the Programs Communication Associate, Communication Intern and editorial work of the Policy & Communications Associate.My portfolio included leading 2020 COVID-19 organizational response, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “Let’s Stop HIV Together” campaign and other grant and policy initiatives.

As Digital Media Manager, I maintained HRC’s blog, drafting original content, managing the editorial calendar, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to elevate the organization’s mission for full LGBTQ equality. I drafted and executed social media strategic plans around rapid response events, blog topics, breaking news and long-term campaigns.My portfolio included topics such as bisexual+ health equity, HIV, LGBTQ mental health and wellness, racial justice, youth outreach and anti-transgender violence. Additionally, I co-led HRC's bi+ employee resource group.

In this role, I supported the training and programmatic work of all HRC staff, steering committee and boards around building cultural competencies. I wrote magazine articles and blog posts pertaining to department initiatives and updated staff resources surrounding the organization’s efforts to build broad, intersectional LGBTQ work. I also managed volunteer outreach and coordination among the HRC steering committees to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.(Previously Diversity Program Temp)

As an intern at the Washington Blade. I covered international LGBTQ issues and breaking news. My stories included a two-part feature on the global bisexual movement and breaking news of a secret pride celebration held in Uganda in defiance of police crackdowns.

During my time in the Washington, D.C., CNS bureau, I covered politics and social justice for University of Maryland’s wire news service. My reporting included issues ranging from criminal justice and police reform in Baltimore City to the impact of Hurricane María on “Diasporicans” living in Maryland. My stories were published in the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, McClatchy, U.S. News & World Report, Charlotte Observer and Seattle Times.

In addition to film crew duties, I worked with our theater's marketing supervisor to maintain all promotions and pursue occasions for creative advertising throughout the AMC Rio 18 theater.

In this role, I worked closely with Publications Director to prepare all HRC print projects by copy-editing, fact-checking and revising publications. I wrote for and supported the development of HRC's Equality Magazine by researching and preparing background information for upcoming interviews and stories, pitching ideas for new articles and copy-editing magazine drafts before printer deadlines.

In this role, I managed our nightly calling shifts and aided student callers with any problems that arose. I also collected data about the college’s Facebook presence in order to begin the expansion of outreach to social media and explore creative means of fundraising. I raised approximately $75,000 in pledges for SMCM over four years spent with the team.

As a student caller, I contacted alumni and parents to re-engage them with the school community, update contact information, and raise money for the St. Mary’s Fund and other campus initiatives.
