About Helen Stjerna

As the Secretary General of A Non Smoking Generation, I have been leading a nonprofit foundation that works for tobacco free children and a tobacco free society for more than eight years. My mission is to prevent the tobacco industry from recruiting our children as nicotine addicts and to achieve a tobacco free and sustainable future.I have extensive experience and expertise in tobacco control and prevention policies, tobacco and sustainable development, tobacco industry tactics and novel products, public health advocacy work, public opinion research, nonprofit public relations, and fundraising. I have successfully established a new communication platform, increased the media impact of our foundation, developed strategic partnerships, and secured funding from various sources. I have also participated in several leadership programs, including one at the Stockholm School of Economics IFL Executive Education. I am passionate about creating positive social change and improving the health and well-being of people and the planet.
