About Helen Tien

I started my entrepreneurial journey at the young age of 15 when I won the UT Dallas Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship business competition with our idea for a way to crowd-source exotic ingredients utilizing GPS technology. This win eventually led to a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Dallas where I majored in Global Business and Marketing. During grad school, I ventured into the startup world as the head of marketing for Kinskii. In that role, where I was able to attain national coverage from the likes of CBS, Telemundo, Tech Crunch Radio as well as create a blogger network for various campaigns. I then moved through various positions in marketing before landing an instructor position at The University of Hawai'i at Hilo where I received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. I also own Hang10 Consulting to help local medium-sized businesses reach national audiences and build their marketing strategies.
