I am an independent analytical scientist, with 20 years experience in medical research and private industry. Commercially focused, I have successfully commissioned two laboratories, from concept to accreditation by ISO/IEC 17025, delivering on time and to budget.With experience of developing and writing workplace drug/alcohol policies, their implementation and delivering staff training, I have guided a number of companies to their successful introduction. I have been retained as an Independent Assessor for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) (ukas.com), the UK national accreditation service utilising my laboratory experience. In the past I have had operational responsibility for a department and it’s quality standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. Since 1994, I have developed a series of Medical Review Officer (MRO) training courses, with Faculty of Occupational Medicine approval, for healthcare, H&S and HR professionals.
