• Devise and implement the strategic and operational communications and marketing plans for all activities of the SU.• Devise and implement a Communications Strategy and plans for the organisation to support the SU’s corporate objectives. • Project manage the marketing and comms for SU’s core campaigns.• Sit on University wide meetings with Corporate Communications to identify how the SU can assist in improving how the University communicates with its student body and ensuring relevant actions are undertaken. • Ensure that the SU receives maximum exposure and recognition of its achievements and of the achievements of its student groups. • Manage the social media presence for the SU on all social media channels.• Run training for all staff on social media guidelines and policies.• Responsible for the implementation and updating of the brand guidelines for the organisation.• Assist managers within the SU including the bars manager in developing communications and marketing plans to support their operational objectives.• Provide close support for the Students’ Union’s Media Group, ensuring all meetings are minuted, elections are run correctly and support is offered for the development of the group. • Responsible for the performance management of the Marketing Team.• Control the Marketing budget.• Identify, deliver and maximise the income generating opportunities for the Students’ Union. • Co-ordinating the marketing and sales of large scale events such as the summer Ball where over 3500 students attend as well as co-ordinating logistics throughout the event. • Co-ordinating the Freshers fair which is attended by over 5000 students and has over 60 exhibitors. • Mentoring students through the sponsorship process.• Liaising with the University Press Office to increase publicity of Students’ Union events / successes internal and externally to the local press.

• Assisting the Marketing and Promotions Co-ordinator with the organisation of many Student Union run events, such as Comedy nights, Business West Mixer events, and internal promotional events.• Building a customer database and ensuring good communication to increase potential sales opportunities.• Attending meetings, and networking events to raise the profile of the Students’ Union media opportunities. • Controlled the sales of all advertising within the student newspaper, radio, plasma screens and all on campus promotions include on site stalls. This included bookings, invoicing, meeting clients, laying up adverts, greeting stall holders and after sales communication.• Worked with clients to arrange promotions with the aim of increasing their brand awareness with the student market, as well as mentoring students on how to promote their club or society effectively. • Mentoring students through the sponsorship process, as well as finding sponsorship for large scale events such as the Summer Ball.

Main responsibilities and achievements include:Producing pre-qualification questionnaires and project sheets to promote Cowlin to potential clients. Attending networking events in around the South West area. Producing the staff newsletter to be circulated to all office and site-based staff.Managing a customer database, chasing leads and following up existing ones. Organising PR events such as football days at Bristol Rovers and hot air balloon rides.

Working for the Business Development Manager in supporting the marketing of Mowlem as well improving internal communications.Main responsibilities and achievements include:Organising and coordinating marketing/safety presentations to school children, as well as various PR and charity functions.Producing pre-qualification documents to secure new building contracts.Producing and updating a database of snagging lists for numerous construction sites.Updating a database of potential leads, designing and maintaining a catalogue of completed projects. Acting as a PA to the Business Development Manager.
