Helen Zhang joined Rider Levett Bucknall in July 2023 with a Diploma in Quantity Surveying. Prior to becoming a qualified Quantity Surveyor, she was a practising Early Childhood teacher in Auckland for 10 years, and later ran her own highly successful home-based early childcare business. She started the business from scratch, undertaking all aspects herself including the marketing, and developed it to the point where she had a long waiting list. With the advent of Covid-19, Helen saw an opportunity to change direction. Helen became a recipient of the RLB Scholarship, awarded to high achievers studying to achieve their tertiary qualification - she was one of the highest achievers in her cohort at Unitec.Helen brings a strong transferable skillset, with excellent communication skills, a growth mindset, the ability to manage competing deadlines and requirements, and a determined approach to ongoing professional development.Since joining RLB, Helen has gained experience assisting on a range of construction projects and sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, and aviation.
