Talaria / Dynamic Scrubbing Center Routing – Designed systems to dynamically redirect traffic flow to alternate data centers to manage traffic.

I joined the Research and Development team in 2007 to design, develop and integrate solutions that provide real time data in order to gain visibility on DDoS attacks and assist in creating tools to mitigate DDoS attacks and collect and enrich intelligence that is utilized by the PLX SERT, other internal and external agencies.Over the years I was involved in creating and supplementing reporting and monitoring tools for DDoS detection and analysis. I have had a hand in almost every major system produced or maintained by the Prolexic development team over the years.Notable technologies that I have been involved with:HTTP Anomaly Detection – Statistically analyzed web traffic to find patterns that do not conform to expected behavior to identify malicious actors. Real Browser Verification – Designed a system to analyze web client traffic to determine if a client was using a real web browser and to block the client if it did not pass validation. Cluster Commander – Maintained a system to manage customers and their configurations on the network. Statistical Graphing System – Generated graphs to identify issues on the network, anticipate attacks, and start investigations when appropriate. Customer Portals – Enabled customers to view their network, services, contact information, etc. Namespace / Network Object Mapping and Keyspace Validation – Created standardized descriptions of all objects utilized to have built-in validation based on an attribute and class dictionary. One of the main objectives over the years is service resilience and notification of failures.The most prominent project was the IP Reputation System (PLXPatrol) that collects and enriches mitigation data from the Prolexic network. The IP Reputation system utilized the MemSQL database system and exposes the data on our internal network utilizing a Java REST interface. The reputational data was utilized internally by marketing, the PLXSert and sold to a select set of subscribers.
