The Forcelink system is one of the most advanced systems of its kind, utilizing the latest cloud and mobile device technologies. It has been deployed to a variety of industries, with multiple configurations and client-specific integration to other business systems.In my capacity as Systems Architect and consultant, I have been the main driver of the following:1) Systems and processes that track and report on electrical network performance at City Power, which are some of the most important measures reported to the City Power board and the regulator (NERSA). 2) Process automation and management reporting around Outage Management, Emergency Work Management and the integration with the City of Johannesburg's call center. 3) System integration project to integrate master data for all the systems that are involved in the management of electrical network asset data. 4) Forcelink Mobile Workforce Management system.5) Fault Reporting and Web Fault Logging systems deployed at City Power and the PPMi system that was developed for Eskom to manage its Project Management portfolio.

I took on the lead technical role in two major OMS (Outage Management System) implementation projects at City Power Johannesburg: 1) WMS Phase I, involved LeT as a subcontractor to Deloitte Consulting.2) WMS Phase II, as a Prime contractor. During my association with City Power, I developed in-depth knowledge of their systems, data, and business processes. Due to my knowledge of systems other than OMS, I was consulted on a regular basis in areas outside pure OMS. These areas included GIS, SCADA, ERP (SAP) and BI. I have further developed strong relationships with Siemens, GISCOE, Deloitte Consulting, GijimaAST, IBM and M-tech.I was the technical head for the OMS division of the CBS project at the Provincial Electricity Authority in Thailand, which is a utility service with over 10 million clients. Quite often I was the sole representative of LeT in Thailand. I conducted workshops, project reviews and technical meetings with the client and the system integrators, Siemens.As an expert in the electrical utility industry, I acted as an internal consultant to the Product Development team at LeT in Ireland. I further designed and implemented several modules at LeT’s eRespond Outage Management System. I was frequently asked to support LeT sales staff in a pre-sales technical capacity. This involved product demonstrations, proof of concepts, feasibility studies and pre-sales negotiations with both partners and potential clients. My pre-sales work has taken place in Poland, Thailand, Mexico, India, South Africa and Australia.I am committed to improve my development, database and other technical skills on a continuous basis.

After being seconded to Eskom’s head office, I moved to Arivia.kom, a split off from Eskom. I was the senior developer on the FMS2 project. This project was an Outage Analysis engine running on the GE Smallworld GIS platform. I joined the project after development staff had left, which left me with basic design challenges that was well received. I re-developed the requirements in conjunction with business representatives from all 7 Eskom regions. Despite the challenges of data issues and relationship challenges, I managed to re-design and implement the software successfully.

My professional career started at Eskom Distribution in KZN after completing my studies on an Eskom bursary. My training was focused on Electrical Engineering in the Electricity Distribution industry. I received training in the Design, Construction, Maintenance and Planning Environments. My career in IT began after I developed the following two software systems: 1) A simulation system for the training and evaluation of electricians on MV network switching and fault finding. 2) A system called GENIE for Outage analysis. Due to a national widespread and adoption of these tools in Eskom, I was later seconded to Eskom’s Head Office as the lead developer of the FMS2 system. It allowed me an opportunity to integrate my concepts into the system.
