My 6 years experience as a community nurse I have learned a lot of culture and appreciated so much awareness of what patients go through outside the hospitals or rehabilitation facilities. I have witnessed with a lot of shame as a healthcare provider the healthcare disparities that continue to exit in low income communities, the failure to address social determinants of health, that have caused high rates of disease’ burden in the United States despite this being a developed nation. The struggle continues I hope to do more for the community at the completion of my Doctorate of Nursing Practice
