1. Analysis and review of fiscal policy including drafting of the macroeconomic chapter of the Budget Speech2. Reviews and Analyses monetary and financial sector performance and its implication on the real sector in order to propose measures that ensure eased access to credit and growth for the real economy; 3.Participates in forecasting of macroeconomic key variables 4.Reviews external sector performance and International Reserves Position to recommend policy measures that can improve exports, especially in the key economic sectors and improve our reserve position to increase our months of import cover; 5.Carries out economic modelling and simulations of policy measures and directives to gauge possible market responses and guide policy decision;6.Compiles the Macroeconomic Framework and objectives of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, a document that outlines the estimates of revenues and expenditures in the medium term (3 years);7.Compiles the Annual and Mid-year economic reports. A report that informs the country on the macroeconomic performance of the global economy as well as the domestic economy outlining the real sector performance, monetary and financial sector performance, revenues and expenditure performance, external sector performance, Public Debt position, and social sector performance and outlines policy and structural reforms implemented within each period (Annual and Mid-Year) to restore macroeconomic stability and increase social security;8.Produces quarterly statements on the State of the Economy with focus on the Macroeconomic developments in each quarter;9.Carries out Bi-annual real sector visits and recommends policy for improved performance of the real sector 10.Coordinates Article IV mission visits of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Monitored and analyzed Zambia's trade with other Countries in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) regions. Proposed policies for enhanced development of Multi Facility Economic Zones through promotion of increased Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Served as secretariat to the Policy, Cabinet and Parliamentary Liaison Committee of the Commerce, Trade and Industry cluster. Analyzed global economic and social developmental reports from the Zambian mission in foreign service and proposed Government intervention in pertinent issues raised. Monitored and analyzed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows in conjunction with the Zambian Development Agency (ZDA). Participated in the rolling out and operationalization of One Stop Border posts for ease of doing business and trade facilitation. Provided Policy recommendation for transforming industrial businesses and complementary services for micro-small and medium sized enterprises into strong value chain creating entities. Monitored and analyzed the contributions of the manufacturing sector to the Gross Domestic Product; Drafted the National Industrial Policy paper and legislation that supported the business environment, including National Quality Infrastructure and the Business Regulatory Bill, among others.Undertook the analysis on the impact of macroeconomic policies on private sector development and business activities in the country;• Monitored and analyzed the contributions of the private sector, and the manufacturing industry to the Gross Domestic Product of the national economy; Drafted and reviewed Legislation to support the business environment for policy consideration;
