Iam Hellen shakele,a researcher, professional in the field of deafblindness,specialist teacher for deaf and deafblind children at the ministry of general education and currently acting senior lecturer at Zambia institute of special education,Mother of a 13 year old Congenital deafblind child and have experienced 13 years of Congenital deafblindness .I have been providing interventions in bodily tactile modalities that can help improve language development in Congenital deafblind children.I advocate for the rights of Children living with congenital deafblindness in Zambia.My focus is to teach children with deafblindness using elements from bodily tactile modality to promote language skills especially in congenital deafblind children who depend on expressive skills in a gestural modality as well as training parents of deafblind children communication skills for deafblind persons.
