I currently volunteer for the Somerset Youth Offending Team. I help to run the health clinic at Wells Blue School which involves working with young people and educating them about social and sexual health and well being. I also sit as a panel member on referral order panels. This involves working with young offenders on an individual basis to create a contract which helps them to make amends to their victim and gives suitable interventions to help the young person address their offending behaviour. I have completed a number of training courses including 'Too Much, Too Young', LGBT support training, child protection and safe guarding and I am a fully trained restorative justice facilitator. I am passionate about working with young people and helping them to make the most of the opportunities they have. I feel strongly that all young offenders deserve support and guidance. My ambition is to work within the youth services framework to help young offenders address their behaviour and move forward and also to provide support to at risk families so that the numbers of young offenders is reduced.
