Hellen’s latest position was as National Director of Steel Market and Industry Development for the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction, the Canadian technical organization for the steel construction industry in Canada. She is considered a leading expert in the field of forensic analysis of bridge and large infrastructure projects. Hellen graduated in civil engineering with specialization in bridges and a holder of several degrees and distinctions, which include a PhD in Civil Engineering, a degree in Civil and Common Law and a master’s in business administration (MBA). The author of many articles, a presenter, a keynote speaker, an active participant at national and international conferences, and instructor of engineering and law courses. She remains an integral member of technical, code and construction industry committees, including as chairperson of the Bridge Committee at the CISC, a member of the Steel Committee for the S6 Bridge Code, a member of the Structures Committee at the Transportation Association of Canada and many others and remains an active member of several advisory boards. Recently Hellen accepted another executive position as Executive Vice-President, Engineering, Sustainability and Business Development of CORBEC INC.
