From a four-year-old Vietnamese refugee to co-founder of a luxury CBD clean beauty and wellness brand dedicated to elevating well-being, Hung Tran has spent his life conquering adversity and chasing a greater purpose—to shift the paradigm towards health and more natural, mindful, proactive and empowering well-being. In 1977, Hung and his family escaped to the U.S. on a crammed RV-sized wooden fishing boat and landed in Hong Kong after being rescued by a Japanese vessel. The United Nation’s Humanitarian Organization resettled his family into the community of Linda Vista in San Diego. He grew up in a rough welfare-laden housing project of recent immigrants from South East Asia and Central America. Despite these odds, Hung graduated from UCLA and then later pursued an MBA at USC and HEC in Paris to gain international business experience while working full time to excel in the fast-paced corporate environment. However, graduate school became the catalyst for bigger endeavors—to make his impact on the world as an entrepreneur. As a young, agile finance and tech savvy innovator with an impeccable work ethic, Hung was on the fast track to a very successful business career, culminating with critical operations and finance positions for several Fortune 500 companies in technology and pharmaceutical distribution, as well as the creation of multiple start-ups that included a partnership with the founder of Bluetooth software. On the surface, it appeared as though he had everything he wanted. While Hung’s career progressed, the hectic, fast-paced environment of start-ups began taking its toll on him. After a painful divorce and a failed business venture, he was physically and spiritually broken. In the coming months, Hung would turn to yoga, surfing, meditation, plant and holistic medicine to find healing and inner peace. It was the beginning of the next phase of his transformation. The ability to learn, adapt, persist, take action, and help others became very much a part of his fluid existence that has taken him from survival to thriving.
