I was very happy working within SCC and with a team that without whom, I would not have the passion and determination that I do now.Responsibilities of mine focused around the migration of surreycc.gov.uk onto a new cms and improving the content by reviewing and creating new Information Architectures for each section of the website. I enjoyed using the Agile Methodology to complete this large scale project, as the team is much more focused, and we can work to much tighter deadlines. I'm actively keen to discover best practices across both central and local government and do so by researching expert advice on the web and more recently now, by networking. While supporting the work of the county council, I have been contributing to the delivery of services and projects allocated and supported by the supervising manager. I used both the frontend and backend content management system to edit and manage the council’s public website. Other work I completed was for the Digital Projects Team which including redesigning and developing partnership websites and more complex functionality requests.The knowledge I have gained proved to be invaluable, this opportunity gave me the drive to continue to learn and develop my web and digital skills within local government.

My duties included administrative support for the Administrative Officer and the team for Surrey Virtual School for Children in Care. Aspects of my job involved creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases of all the Children in Care, their social workers and designated teachers. Responsibilities include answering and managing the Virtual School telephone and email inbox.
